After SHB's share price dropped approximately 43% over the past year, two Deputy General Directors Nguyen Huu Tai and Dinh Ngoc Dung have registered to purchase a total of 4 million shares.

According to information from Saigon - Hanoi Bank (SHB) on October 9, the two Deputy General Directors of the bank will each purchase 2 million shares. The transactions are expected to be executed from October 15 to November 12, through order matching or negotiated deals.

Prior to the transactions, Mr. Dinh Ngoc Dung owned approximately 1.6 million SHB shares, while Mr. Nguyen Huy Tai held 443,000 shares.

The move by the two SHB executives comes as the bank's stock has been continuously declining recently. The ticker has had 11 consecutive sessions of decline or sideways movement. At today's trading session close, SHB shares fell to 10,000 VND per unit, the lowest level since April 2025. Compared to a year ago, the share price has dropped approximately 43%.

Beyond the purpose of restructuring personal asset portfolios, insider share accumulation of the company may reassure shareholders and investors during a period of continuous price decline. Additionally, this move helps increase liquidity for the stock on the exchange.

SHB was established in 1993 and listed its shares on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE) in 2021. Mr. Do Quang Hien currently serves as Chairman of the bank.

In the first half of this year, SHB reported pre-tax profit of over 9,000 billion VND, an increase of 1.6% compared to the same period last year, achieving 51% of the annual plan. However, in the second quarter, the bank earned 4,436 billion VND, a decline of over 3% year-on-year.

As of the end of June, SHB's total assets reached over 962,600 billion VND, an increase of nearly 8% from the beginning of the year, with customer loans growing 7.3% to 659,611 billion VND. Customer deposits increased by over 9% to more than 624,300 billion VND.
