PNJ and Novaland Stocks Both Hit Limit-Up

Cash flowed into PNJ and Novaland stock codes, pushing the market prices of these two stocks to hit their daily ceiling, with trading volume ranking among the top in the market.

From the opening of trading, PNJ stock of Phu Nhuan Gold and Jewelry Company was pulled up to the session's highest level. The market price of 19,500 dong was maintained continuously until closing, helping this code break a 13-session adjustment streak.

Total trading value recorded over 139 billion dong, equivalent to more than 7.1 million shares changing hands. However, more than half of the trades came from the seller's initiative.

NVL of Novaland Group was also a stock attracting investor attention today, with liquidity reaching nearly 783 billion dong, ranking 2nd across the entire market. Looking at order matching alone, this code had a fairly balanced proportion of active buying and selling.

Novaland stock closed at the ceiling price of 10,950 dong. During the session, the purple color (indicating limit-up) was not maintained continuously, but the high price still dominated.

PNJ and Novaland stocks reversed after several sessions of facing strong adjustment pressure. Among these, PNJ lost nearly half its market capitalization since announcing plans for a record loss this year, while NVL stock once fell below par value amid bankruptcy rumor pressure.

On October 7, Novaland denied circulating information while affirming that it is focusing on restructuring and has achieved certain results. Yesterday afternoon, PNJ announced that it had received a certificate from the Asian Institute of Gemological Sciences (AIGS) with 100% of samples verified as natural diamonds and matching the 4C parameters it published.

Contrary to the above developments, the stock market today continued to experience volatility. Except for early afternoon, the HoSE benchmark index consistently traded below the reference level. At closing, the VN-Index dropped nearly 4 points to around 1,735 points, marking the third consecutive adjustment session.

The HoSE had 170 stocks declining, more than the 121 stocks rising. However, the gap between the two groups was not too wide, indicating low consensus in the market and money flow showing divergence.

Liquidity improved significantly in the final session of the week, reaching over 27,500 billion dong. Compared to yesterday, the HoSE total trading value surged by over 73% to its highest level since late June.

Today, foreign investors net sold approximately 9,273 billion dong—the highest since early August 2025, meaning over a year ago. However, MCH accounted for a large proportion of this, with net selling value of nearly 9,600 billion dong, mainly coming from negotiated transactions.

If Masan Consumer stock is excluded, the market could record the first net buying session for foreign investors after 12 sessions of prioritizing selling.

Since yesterday, Vietcombank Securities (VCBS) has recommended that investors monitor the movement of the general index, while also being able to look for short-term investment opportunities in stocks that are attracting money flow notably compared to the overall market, and are currently in an upward trend with successful support testing signals.

"For stocks that have risen sharply and are at resistance zones, investors should not deploy capital as adjustment risk is hard to avoid," the analysis group added.
