Bitcoin falls below the $80,000 mark as ICP surges 13% against the trend to break through the $3 level, reaching a new high since June.
On September 7, Bitcoin (BTC) price fell below the $80,000 mark during the afternoon Asian session, triggering a widespread decline in the cryptocurrency market. However, Internet Computer (ICP) staged an independent rally, surging more than 13% intraday, breaking strongly through the $3 level and touching its highest point since June 4 this year.

Internet Computer (ICP) is a high-performance Layer-1 blockchain network developed by the Swiss non-profit organization DFINITY Foundation. Its core objective is to break the monopoly of traditional centralized cloud services like Amazon and Google, transforming the internet itself into a distributed and decentralized computing platform.
Recently, the DFINITY ecosystem has been continuously advancing decentralized AI and Bitcoin Layer-2 ecosystem integration. With stable increases in on-chain computing consumption, market concerns about token unlocks and inflation have been mitigated, providing fundamental support for the rebound. Additionally, after the non-farm payroll data release, market expectations for Federal Reserve rate cuts rose, causing BTC to fall into high-level consolidation again. This has driven some profit-taking funds to rotate from mainstream assets to undervalued targets with public chain ecosystem upside potential, such as ICP.
After ICP broke through the $3 level in the short term, its future direction will depend on the interplay between sustained rotation capital and Bitcoin's price movement. From a technical analysis perspective, ICP's next resistance level is at $4, representing approximately 33% upside room from current levels. If ICP experiences a pullback, attention should be paid to whether it can effectively retest and hold the $2.7 level, which is the previous concentrated trading area/breakout point. If this zone holds, the short-term bullish structure remains intact; however, if $2.70 is lost, caution is needed to guard against the risk of a false breakout pullback to the $2震荡底部。
